love it =) just passing along this quote that was given to me on a card by a homeless man the other day...which whom i stopped what i was doing to just speak to.....he said i made his day....when he gave me this small little reminder....he made mine..

life is a challenge...meet it
life is a gift...accept it
life is an adventure...dare it.
life is a sorrow...overcome it.
life is a tragedy...face it.
life is a duty...perform it.
life is a game...play it.
life is a mystery..unfold it.
life is a song...sing it.
life is an opportunity...take it.
life is a journey...complete it.
life is a promise...fulfill it.
life is a beauty...praise it.
life is a struggle...fight it.
life is a goal...achieve it.
life is a puzzle...solve it.
life is a love...love it.

M, that's great to hear. Sometimes you get in a field and realize just how jacked up some things can be, and the inner workings of the underbelly, and you're not really comfortable with it all. Nonetheless, keep doing you, and here's hoping your liberation goes well.

Hey girl! I totally feel you...it's an industry full of bullshit and sometimes, it eats away at your soul. I skipped all the Fashion Week stuff this season and quite frankly, I don't attend as many media parties as I used to...I used to love networking in hopes of getting a better job but I realized only I can get my self a better gig...also, it gets old standing in the corner of a party and having an empty conversation. We all need to take a break and assess things -- glad to hear that you're doing you, ma! XOXO

COULDN"T AGREE MORE! this is a great post, because it's so true... it's as if everybody thinks they are so high and mighty because you have the "access" to go here and there. When in reality... it's all bullshit... honestly who really cares?!

MS, Let me just say that I could not agree with you more. In May I left what I thought made me… my entire life! I moved to Dubai! At first the thought of it was refreshing and exciting. Then I got here and was feeling like my old life and everyone in it was on pause back in the states and perhaps I had made a HUGE mistake. After not hearing from the people closest to me as often as I thought I would and realizing what a blessing this new road I am on is, I understand that as much as I miss my old life and everyone in it, they are moving on and I have to as well and make the most of it while I am at it. I don't know where or who I will be in a year, but that's life. It's always changing, always moving so we have to do the same. Buena Suerte during this hiatus. I'm sure you will come back a little wiser, happier, and stronger because of it!

I truly enjoyed this post Mercedes! Here's something that a friend of mine shared with me...it's very simple..yet most times the meaning gets lost in everyday life:

Charles Shultz Philosophy!
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions.
Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .

Here's the 2nd part of the quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the
ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.
They are the ones that care .
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow in Australia " (Charles Schultz)

I left college looking to build a strong foundation so that I could take off when the time comes.

A young man (Antonio) had to sell dreams to the same people he was set out to save. His efforts valued at about 25Gs a year. His innocent heart met the cold cruel world that is politics.

"If you can't beat em' fuck em'". Change doesn't come easy. My eagerness and commitment meant nothing at the face of a brown nose slacker. Yes sir, yes maam. It just wasn't me.

But I stay commited to the cause and the idea that I will be given the opportunity to follow my dreams. Dreams that don't encompass politics, but true members of society making honest descisions for those who are currently misrepresented.

I applaud you Mercedes, and you my dear do Rock!!! The bottom is full of fishes working hard to look like sharks. You either fake it till you make it.... Or come to terms with life and reach hiatus.

I have done exactly the same thing you have, on a different scale and quite some time ago, but it was essentially the same thing.... After I did that.... Well, I really got to know me... There will be a time and a place for doing all you wish to do.... Just make it your time and your place no matter what or where it is!!!
