RACIST COOKIES IN THE VILLAGE

BAKERY MAKES RACIST “DRUNKEN NEGRO FACE” COOKIE

Just when it seemed that as a country we were going on a better direction, a bakery owner in Greenwich Village proves that racism is still alive, even in the Village. Ted Kefalinos of the popular Lafayette French Pastry is offering his customers what he calls “drunken negro face” cookies. According to a customer Fox5 spoke with, Kefalinos actually said the N-word instead of “negro”. The disturbed baker said he made the cookies in honor of our new president, and that “he’s following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln; he will get his”.

When a co-worker sent me this clip earlier today, I was disgusted and ashamed that this bakery is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods. See the whole story here:

THE OBAMA GIRLS DANCE IT UP

SASHA AND MALIA: ALSO FANS OF THE JONAS BROTHERS

Disney Inaugural Concert

Their parents celebrated the Presidential Inauguration on Tuesday, but Sasha and Malia started the party one day early at Disney’s Kids’ Inaugural Concert. From previous articles, you might know that I am a fan of the Disney Channel. So when I heard that the Obama Girls were going to be at the Disney concert with their mom, Michelle, I just had to tune in.

The event was hosted by pre-teen reporters, and it was a night full of performances by Miley Cyrus, Bow Wow, Usher and others. Sasha and Malia were dancing throughout the night, but it wasn’t until the Jonas Brothers showed up that they looked the most excited. Before the concert was over, Joe (my favorite) invited the girls up to the stage where they were standing right next to the brothers.

The following night as their parents partied it up, the girls were reportedly at a slumber party at the White House watching several movies including High School Musical 3.

Take a look at this short clip of the Disney Kids Inaugural Concert:

The chic nail and spa boutique, Dashing Diva, is hosting a manicures and martinis event on behalf of the American Fertility Association. Yes, ladies… The event is to school us on infertility prevention while getting pampered. Dr. Jamie Grifo from the NYU School of Medicine will be the featured speaker at this inaugural event.

They’ll also be serving the Fertilitini™ an organic, alcohol-free specialty drink whose recipe is the result of a contest.

THE BROMANCE IS BACK

MTV's Bromance

Bromance: close friendships between hetero dudes.

Back in April of 2007, I wrote an article titled “Bromantic” which got an unprecedented amount of comments on BeChicMag.com. It stirred some controversy between women and men and unintentionally led to tension. Some of you had never heard of the term “Bromance” until logging on here, but since then the word has become even more popular. Now there’s an MTV show with the same name starring Brody Jenner from The Hills as he tries to find his new ‘bro’.

If you’re still not clear on what a ‘Bromance’ is, take a look at Brody’s version through this trailer of his reality show:
