We had the honor of meeting with renowned fashion photographer Nigel Barker at his studio in Manhattan. Our editor Mercedes Sanchez sat with the British artist for an exclusive interview where they spoke about beauty, modeling and America’s Next Top Model.
Guys, we have an additional video just for you on the BeChic TV page where Nigel gives our male viewers personal styling tips. This video includes a scene where Nigel playfully calls our editor a stalker for knowing too much information! (Hey, we know our stuff).
Don’t miss the full segment below, where the ANTM judge even critiques Mercedes’ personal “modeling” pictures!
Our contributing fashion editor gives us her take on the new season
By Arleny Genao
I am a huge fan of Project Runway, and this season it is back in New York with 16 new designers and a beautiful glowing pregnant Heidi Klum. Season 7 kicked off its first challenge with the contestants scrambling for fabric in Central Park in order to create a piece that represents who they are as designers. And of course, it wouldn’t be a show without some tension. After seeing all the designs I already have few personal favorites.
I liked the dress by Amy Sarabi. I thought this design was functional and well constructed. Plus, I already see myself wearing this piece (with a few adjustments). I also liked Pamela Ptak’s design- her dress looks so casual but sexy at the same time (check out that back!). At the end, Emilio Sosa won the first challenge by creating a fun and flirty dress that looked so simple but included an incredible amount of detail and technique that left the judges impressed. Which designer left you blown away? Let us know!
You can watch full episodes of Project Runway on MyLifetime.com, or catch it on Lifetime every Thursday at 10:00pm.
Charlie Vargas is proof that guys can have both beauty and brains! This stud was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine as one of its hottest bachelors of 2009.
We sat down with the 27-year-old for an exclusive one-on-one interview for BeChic TV! You’ll be more impressed when you find out what he does besides modeling. Take a look at the clip below…
When accessorizing your wardrobe this winter, don’t forget your eyes. Our shopping contributor finds a fine pair of glasses in the Sunshine State
By Arleny Genao
If you live in Florida then you have probably heard of Edward Beiner. For those who haven’t, Edward Beiner is a leading Miami-based eyewear designer with celebrity fans such as Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Alicia Keys.
If you’re planning on making a trip to the Sunshine State be sure to stop by one of Edward Beiner’s shops.
My favorite Edward Beiner design comes from the Enlighten 1 Collection. Unlike your typical frames, these designs are colorful and fun! Shopping for sunglasses and choosing the right frame for your face can be stressful, but at each store you’ll find experienced consultants who will provide their expertise to meet your needs.
Check out EdwardBeiner.com for store locations and product information. Until next time, Stay Chic! The Edward Beiner collection ranges from $250 – $380
