After filming a hair tutorial where I tried a rotating curling iron for the first time, I realized most of the makeup I wore was from the drugstore. So here’s a beauty and product review from my latest YouTube video.
I received most of them in my blogger mail in the past month or two.
Let’s start with the eyes. I sometimes wear false lashes when I do a video or go on a television segment but I didn’t have a spare one for last night. However, it turns out I didn’t need falsies because the CoverGirl So Lashy blast Pro Mascara works wonders. It was my first time trying it. The ball tip gets to the corners and hard to reach lashes. I think I might like it just as much as the Clump Crusher.
Look, ma! No falsies.
For the eyeliner I used L’Oreal’s Voluminous Liner Noir liquid eyeliner pen. It has an ultra-fine tip which is perfect when I attempt a cat eye look.
I mixed a drugstore eye shadow palette with another brand. I first applied soft tones from CoverGirl TruNaked, and I finished with a bronzy shadow from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
I don’t wear foundation everyday, but a good one for day-to-day is the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Foundation. It goes on smoothly and it only takes me about a minute or so to apply with my fingers. I use the “Sand Beige” shade.
For the lips I mixed and matched two shades from the CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick: KP01 and KP05. But now that I think about it, the “Catour Trict-Griffes” KP10 looks a lot like the color the two other shades created.
I got a hold of the Shea Moisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame Shampoo and Conditioner in the fall. I love it because it’s free of harsh chemicals and it’s made for various hair types. It was also my first time hearing about Marshmallow Root Extract as an ingredient for hair products.
Department store makeup is fun but also expensive. Let me know if you use any of the products I mentioned in this post.
Oh, and kudos to those who guessed right on instagram and twitter when I asked if you could guess which mascara I was wearing!
