This week in our Brazilian Beauty Series, we talk to Carol Pinto. She’s a fashion designer from Fortaleza, Brazil.
“I almost never wear makeup,” says Pinto. “I don’t know how to.”
And who can blame her! Carol’s skin was flawless. When speaking with her, I noticed a dab of what looked like a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and light eye shadow.
To keep her skin healthy, she uses a foam cleanser from Brazil called Dermotivin Sabonete em Espuma.
For her gorgeous curly locks, Carol uses mousse from a brand called Seda. (I tried searching for a link to share with you but I didn’t find one. However, I found an old article on Latina.com about Seda. Check it out: “So I did a little investigating online to find out more about Seda and Sedal products. Turns out, per the brand website, both brands are owned by Unilever, which sells the products as Sedal in Latin America, Seda in Brazil and Sunsilk in the United States.”)
Update: I spoke with the folks at Unilever and they told me that Sunsilk has been discontinued.
When I asked Carol about foundation, she said she doesn’t wear any and uses a sunblock from Mary Kay instead. Then she pulled it out of her purse!
It looks like Mary Kay is very popular in Brazil. Carol wasn’t the only girl who brought up Mary Kay. Turns out they have many independent vendors and their product gets around.
NEXT on our Brazilian series… we get into luxury brands and mascara!
