Sweat proof your makeup
(Left: With Vicky Sosa of Telemundo)
Memorial Day is only days away and you know that’s the unofficial start of summer! So before the temperature rises, stock up on some of these must-have products to make sure your makeup doesn’t melt in the heat.
Watch my segment towards the end of the blog post.
Hydrate your face
Even if your skin is more on the oily side, moisturizing is imperative. Try to skip out on the foundation and opt for a light moisturizer such as the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream which hydrates, brightens and protects your skin from the sun with SPF. $12.99
Don’t leave home without a compact. A retouching powder such as Bobbi Brown’s Retouching Powder controls oil and evens out discolorations. It comes in six different shades. $36.
Use waterproof eye makeup
Though I suggest you cut down on eye makeup during the summer, a waterproof mascara will get you through those hot and humid days. Consider Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara. $22
Use powder blush vs. cream blush
Many of us enjoy those soft, cream blushes but to reduce oil and shine a traditional powder compact such as CoverGirl’s Cheekers Blush is recommended for the summer. It comes in 18 different shades! $4.21
Consider a lip stain
Keep your lips feeling smooth but still with a long lasting lip color by using a lip stain such as Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. It lasts up to three hours and will leave your lips shiny and smooth. $8.99
Don’t forget to hydrate your body
The combination of a greasy lotion and sweat is super uncomfortable (trust me, I know!) For the summer go for a lighter moisturizer, but you can always apply a lotion such as St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion on the driest parts of your body such as your knees and elbows. $4.99
