We speak to the BFFs about Empire Girls

While covering the red carpet at the 2012 Latin Billboards in Miami, we spoke to Julissa Bermudez and Adrienne Bailon about their upcoming reality show, Empire Girls.

“A lot of people don’t know that Julie and I have been best friends for almost 10 years,” says Bailon.

“[The show] follows us through our lives coming back to our hometown of New York City, taking our careers to the next level and possibly finding a man.”

Julissa told us the show will also touch upon being Latinas in the entertainment business, and yes, finding love.

“The goal is for us to find a man before we hit 30– and that’s in a year and a half from now,” says Bermudez. “And let’s be real– we’re not being too picky because we’re really trying to get there before the age of 30. All of our friends are married!”

Telemundo Headquarters in Miami

Telemundo Media, along with Klout, invited top online media influencers in music and entertainment to the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards including yours truly. See photos below.

“Working with Klout ahead of the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards is a natural fit for us, and we are excited about the Social TV opportunities for the broadcast of this year’s awards show,” said Borja Perez, Senior Vice President, Digital & Social Media, Telemundo Media. “U.S. Hispanics greatly over index in their use of social media, and Telemundo Media is extremely active in the space, engaging with fans directly on the platforms they are passionate about.”

We visited the sets of hit national programs like LevantateTV, Al Rojo Vivo and Caso Cerrado and even sat through a taping of an upcoming episode of the telenovela Corazon Valiente.

We spent the afternoon live tweeting and asking tons of questions! On the night of the award show, we learned that #billboards2012 was trending worldwide on Twitter! See my photos below.

Dove PitiCure Treatment

Co-hosting a live tweet up with Dove and Beauty Expert Mariela Bagnato was one of the highlights of the Hispanicize Conference. Along with fellow bloggers Flor and Rory, I had the opportunity to answer questions from Twitter and a live audience. Sharing my beauty and fashion tips is one of the many ways I engage with my readers and viewers!

The Dove Lounge was the place to go between panel sessions. FIRST FLAGSHIP STORE IN MEXICO

Today H&M announced they’re opening their first flagship store in Mexico this fall.

The flagship store will be a full concept store in the shopping mall Centro Santa Fé, Mexico City.

“We look very much forward to opening the first H&M flagship store in Mexico,” says Karl-Johan Persson, CEO at H&M. “It will be the perfect first step for H&M into this fashion conscious region. We are excited to be able to offer fashion and quality at the best price to our customers in Mexico City.”

3 steps you can’t afford to skip

While not everyone’s skin is the same, there are some basic (and imperative) routines that every woman should practice regardless of her skin type.

Cleansing

For women with sensitive skin, cleansing in the morning and before bed are two steps they can’t afford to miss. I always recommend women with sensitive skin to cleanse with a no-soap cleanser, like Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash , to cleanse and nourish skin. Look for products that are hypoallergenic and don’t have any dyes or harsh chemicals.

Moisturizing

Even if you fall more on the oily side, adding moisturizer to your daily routine is encouraged. Not only does moisturizer often act as an anti-aging regimen, it also keeps your skin healthy because it hydrates. Look for a moisturizer that’s kind to the skin, has pure ingredients and doesn’t contain alcohol.  I like Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer to keep my skin nourished all day long. Only apply a small portion if you have oily skin.

SPF

You should be applying SPF to your daily beauty regimen year round, but especially now that we’re approaching the warmer months. Using sun protection prevents dark spots, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and of course fights against harmful UV rays.
