You guessed it. I will be covering the 2011 Alma Awards in Santa Monica next week!

Thanks to Artistry from Amway, I will have a first look at the red carpet, the celebrities and their fashion and beauty trends before the show airs live on Friday, September 16th on NBC.

The Alma Awards is an award show that honors and recognizes Latinos in television, film and music. The gorgeous Eva Longoria and George Lopez will be the hosts of the night.

How gorgeous did Selena Gomez look last night at the Teen Choice Awards?! And what a great surprise it was to see Zoe Saldana, one of our favorite dominican actors.

Here are a few highlights from last night’s award show:

1. Watching Demi Lovato sing-a-long to her friend Selena Gomez’  ”Love You Like A Song.” We’re so glad she’s back and doing well. See Demi’s video to her fans after rehab.

2. Ashton Kutcher singing an A capella version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” as he accepted his award

3. Keeping an eye on The Biebs and Selena as they sat together in the front row

4. Tribute to Taylor Swift while she was honored with the Ultimate Choice Award

Talking about Taylor Swift, we loved her look! Makeup Artist Lorrie Turk says that to make Taylor’s eyes pop, she started by brushing on CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow Kit in Turquoise Tempest.

Turk then topped it with COVERGIRL’s Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Eyeliner. For a young and radiant glow, she used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, accentuated with a peachy blush.

Just as I was editing a new segment for BeChicTV, I read a live tweet from someone at the Webby Awards that made my night–perhaps even my week.

After Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe invited Anna Wintour to the stage at last night’s Webby Awards, the Vogue editor said one thing that we at BeChicMag.com hold to be true.

“Sometimes geeks can be chic,” said Wintour as she received the People’s Voice Award for fashion on behalf of Vogue.com.

Oh Anna, thanks for reiterating that it’s perfectly fine for us to be in love with our profession of blogging and addiction to social media.

Sofia Vergara donned a  stunning laced, corset dress by Zuhair Murad at the Vanity Fair Oscar’s After-Party, and her makeup was flawless. MUA Beau Nelson said, “I wanted to create an old-Hollywood glamour look inspired by Sophia Loren and Sofia’s gorgeous black dress.”

*For the eyes, Nelson applied a beige shadow on the lid and brown shadow in the crease then lined the top with COVERGIRL Line Exact in Black for added drama.

*To keep Sofia’s skin fresh and dewy, he applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg for a flawless finish followed by the Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach to give her a natural glow.

*Beau Nelson completed the look with a pink/beige lip using COVERGIRL LipPerfection lip color in Rush.

Hilary Swank looked super chic with her updo as she presented the award for Best Director. “I wanted to really play up Hilary’s eyes,” says makeup artist Monika Blunder. “I used her gorgeous Gucci Premiere couture dress with beautiful shades of gray and satin as my color inspiration.”

* To create the soft but colorful eye look, Blunder blended silvery colors across the eye and then opened up the eyes by using COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast in Silver Spark close to the top and bottom lash line.

*For darker colors on the outside of the eye lid, with lighter silver colors on the inside,  she used the Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke to bring out the silver shades of the dress.

*Lashes were curled with LashBlast Volume mascara in Very Black.

*For blush, Blunder applied Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach

*Lipgloss: NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Sandstone

Something huge happened on Thursday evening: Univision’s Premios Juventud was the number one trending topic worldwide! And if you don’t know what that means, perhaps it’s time to step up your social media game. It turns out that the 7th annual award show on the Spanish-language channel was the most watched program beating NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX for the third year in a row!

While there were spectacular performances like the duo between the Spanish stud Enrique Iglesias and Dominican living legend Juan Luis Guerra, and Shakira‘s homage to the World Cup, we of course cared more about the fashion. So here’s a little recap on the celebs who captured our attention the most- from the best to the worst dressed.

BEST DRESSED

I hear not everyone agrees, but I loved former Miss Universe Amelia Vega's metallic look with the bright colors- perfect for a summer award show in Miami! Do we love the hair? Of course! She pulled off the super high faux hawk with a classic taste. And the lips? This CoverGirl knows what she's doing!

Another cutout dress. Former RBD star Anahi with a frock by Gustavo Mata. Not sure whether I love it or hate it, but she definitely looks gorgeous in it while rocking two trends at once: laces and cutouts. What do you think? Hit or Miss?

Shakira on the blue carpet donning Robert Cavalli. The strapless dress shined with gold and metallic embroidery giving her a simple yet elegant look.

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Niurka. I don't even know where to begin with her. Is it the nails, the top, skirt or the hair that I hate the most? Worst of all? This is the outfit she chose to walk down the blue carpet with her preteen son...

Ivy Queen. For sure she was trying to channel Lady Gaga onstage, but it didn't quite work out, did it? However, I am so happy to see that she got rid of those awful long nails. Good for you Ivy- it was about time!

As much as I hate to say this, Belinda's look didn't do it for me. Perhaps I'm being biased because of her new bad-girl attitude and choice to go super thin. She got the bronze down, but isn't pulling the whole look off.
