Latin Billboards 2014
By Mercedes Sanchez
I stopped by Telemundo NY’s Acceso Total to talk about last night’s Latin Billboards. I was a little surprised to see so many black and white gowns.
Here’s my list of the best and worst dressed– you can also watch my Telemundo segment below.
Best and Worst Dressed at Latin Billboards
Catalina Denis’ black, sheer gown was well executed. The sheer is definitely daring and sexy, but she makes it look elegant. I loved that she decided to go with a messy up do. A simple hairstyle was the right way to go because her outfit is anything but. She’s wearing Leonard Paris.
Gaby Espino may have been the best dressed. She was one of the few that grasped the fun theme of the evening. Her big, wavy hair was perfect along with her natural makeup and fitted dress. She was perfection. Gaby’s wearing Gionni Stracia.
Loved Roselyn Sanchez‘ plum lip with her super chic high ponytail. The white gown is elegant and looks great on her, but I have to say that she almost made my worst dressed list because I don’t understand the tassel hanging down the sleeves. What the heck is that about? The dress is from Badgley Mishka Couture.
Juan Soler is so handsome in this black suit. I love that he chose to wear it without a tie; it gives him a young, cool look.
Worst Dressed on the Red Carpet
The cutout in the middle of Carmen Villalobos black gown was out of place and just plain awkward. The slit is way too high. If it was lower, she would have looked more graceful. Oh, and those shoes are hideous.
Although her husband made the best dressed list, actress Maky Soler did not. The combination of what looks like sequins on top, and chiffon on the bottom doesn’t mix well. The hair is also too plain and boring for the award show. She should have let it down all the way. It seems as if she didn’t have a lot of time to get ready.
I adore her, but this dress isn’t doing anything for Laura Pausini. The thick straps on the shoulders along with the design in the front are all odd shapes.
Chino of Chino y Nacho
I usually like what he wears, but Chino’s outfit is way too busy. The blue flowers on the black jacket and shirt clash. And, he should’ve left the top button, unbuttoned. What do you think?
