Reggaetoneros RKM & Ken-Y, join Pepsi MAX for the opportunity of a lifetime. Pepsi MAX is launching their “Field of Dreams” team where fans can choose their players straight from the Major Leagues and create their own All Star team. For each ballot cast, fans will be a step closer to winning a chance to play alongside the All Stars in their hometown!
Via a phone interview, I spoke with Ken-Y. Take a look at our Q&A below:
I know you guys have a new album to promote. How do you involve every generation in the music? For example, I listen to your music and so do my younger cousins, my mother and even my grandmother. How do you guys do it?!
We like to make music that is appropriate for all ages, something with a positive message and buen ritmo. We like to let our listeners know that our music no es solamente about partying. We like to keep our music timeless and come up with lyrics que llegen al corazon.
How are you accomplishing that with your new album?
The new album is called Forever. We just wanted to bring back those enamorados memories. We wanted to bring back los amores de high school with the love stories someone can only have during this time, you know, las cartas de amor and the late night phone calls.
Now I know you guys are always on the road, how do you manage to maintain healthy? Any beauty routines?
(laughs) Well, we try to stay as fit as possible to maintain our image but you know we’re Latinos. It’s in our blood; nos gusta comer! But we usually try to contain ourselves. We go to the gym and make sure our nutrition is always first.
How has your fan base reacted with your collaboration with Pepsi MAX?
We love to see our fans engaged. They seem to love it! We are excited because it’s a very positive event. Inspira a la juventud to achieve what they would like, especially their dreams.
Here’s a brief clip the folks at Pepsi shared with us:
If you were looking for some fun eye candy last night, then I hope you were watching Univision’s Premios Juventud.
William Levy (who starred in Jennifer Lopez‘ I’m Into You video only months before she announced divorce from Marc Anthony) co-hosted the award show.
Pitbull and Ne-Yo performed one of my favorite songs of the moment “Give me everything tonight,” and Prince Royce was one of the night’s biggest winners.
Antonio Banderas got on stage after a special tribute where he said, “Being young is not an age; being young is a way of living,” in his native Spanish.
We fell for Italian teen trio Il Volo and Mexican actor Aaron Diaz.
Academy Award nominated actorEdward James Olmos confirmed to be one of the keynote speakers at Hispanicize 2011.
Throughout 33 sessions, dozens will lead discussions on branding, blogging, social media and fashion and beauty including yours truly! Stay tuned for live tweets between April 6-April 8th straight out of Los Angeles.
Something huge happened on Thursday evening: Univision’s Premios Juventudwas the number one trending topic worldwide! And if you don’t know what that means, perhaps it’s time to step up your social media game. It turns out that the 7th annual award show on the Spanish-language channel was the most watched program beating NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX for the third year in a row!
While there were spectacular performances like the duo between the Spanish stud Enrique Iglesiasand Dominican living legend Juan Luis Guerra, and Shakira‘s homage to the World Cup, we of course cared more about the fashion. So here’s a little recap on the celebs who captured our attention the most- from the best to the worst dressed.
BEST DRESSED
I hear not everyone agrees, but I loved former Miss Universe Amelia Vega's metallic look with the bright colors- perfect for a summer award show in Miami! Do we love the hair? Of course! She pulled off the super high faux hawk with a classic taste. And the lips? This CoverGirl knows what she's doing!
Another cutout dress. Former RBD star Anahi with a frock by Gustavo Mata. Not sure whether I love it or hate it, but she definitely looks gorgeous in it while rocking two trends at once: laces and cutouts. What do you think? Hit or Miss?
Shakira on the blue carpet donning Robert Cavalli. The strapless dress shined with gold and metallic embroidery giving her a simple yet elegant look.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
Niurka. I don't even know where to begin with her. Is it the nails, the top, skirt or the hair that I hate the most? Worst of all? This is the outfit she chose to walk down the blue carpet with her preteen son...
Ivy Queen. For sure she was trying to channel Lady Gaga onstage, but it didn't quite work out, did it? However, I am so happy to see that she got rid of those awful long nails. Good for you Ivy- it was about time!
As much as I hate to say this, Belinda's look didn't do it for me. Perhaps I'm being biased because of her new bad-girl attitude and choice to go super thin. She got the bronze down, but isn't pulling the whole look off.
We would love to hear your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree? Let us know your thoughts?! – Mercedes
