Alexis Bledel on Mad Men

Did you know Alexis is Latina?

By Mercedes Sanchez

While watching Mad Men, I had to do a double take to confirm if the woman standing half naked by Pete Campbell’s desk was Gilmore Girl’s Alexis Bledel. Sure enough, it was!

I missed last week’s episode where she played Beth Dawes– the wife of Pete’s commuter friend. But she made another brief cameo tonight.

Kudos to Alexis on her role! I haven’t seen her do anything worth talking about since The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Alexis Bledel is Latina? Her mother is originally from Mexico while her father is from Argentina. And it turns out that her first language is Spanish!

Who wore what to Hispanicize

For this week’s #BeChicTuesday, we’re celebrating our social media friends and sharing their outfit photos from the Hispanicize Conference. Take a look…

Amanda (top left) is wearing a black dress with lace details on the shoulder and floral shoes. “This outfit worked well for me because I couldn’t change outfits from day to night,” said Amanda. “So I paired it with a blazer during the day.”

Alba (left) wears a fedora on the third day of the conference.

Alex Z. shared a photo of himself and Lance with the following caption: “What los jefes wore to the Hispanicize Scarface party! All meeyameed out!”

Adrienne Bailon and Julissa Bermudez to star in new reality show

We speak to the BFFs about Empire Girls

By Mercedes Sanchez

While covering the red carpet at the 2012 Latin Billboards in Miami, we spoke to Julissa Bermudez and Adrienne Bailon about their upcoming reality show, Empire Girls.

“A lot of people don’t know that Julie and I have been best friends for almost 10 years,” says Bailon.

“[The show] follows us through our lives coming back to our hometown of New York City, taking our careers to the next level and possibly finding a man.”

Julissa told us the show will also touch upon being Latinas in the entertainment business, and yes, finding love.

“The goal is for us to find a man before we hit 30– and that’s in a year and a half from now,” says Bermudez. “And let’s be real– we’re not being too picky because we’re really trying to get there before the age of 30. All of our friends are married!”

We couldn’t help but notice Adrienne’s eccentric nails! It turns out the polish is from her own collection called Fingertip Festish.
