While most people my age might be crushing on celebs like Justin Timberlake, Usher or Brad Pitt, I am not ashamed to say that I’ve been rocking an imaginary cradle with Joe Jonas. And to those who might not be familiar with the name (as I just learned of him a few months ago), he’s yet another Disney Channel sensation and member of The Jonas Brothers.
The New Jersey native is barely 19, but after seeing the last scene of Camp Rock I share a common interest with all tween girls. It’s something about how his mouth moves when he’s singing and the look in his eyes. Well, take a look for yourself in this clip of Camp Rock.
Oh, and I have to mention Demi Lovato has nothing on Miley Cyrus, who by the way reportedly dated Joe’s brother Nick Jonas. But that’s a different story. *ms
It’s autumn in New York and that can only mean one thing for the fashionistas: Fall Fashion in the city! From red lipstick, to high leather boots and pretty parkas, everyone can find something to splurge on this season- including fans of Penelope Cruz.
Earlier this year the Spanish beauty and her younger sister Monica debuted their collection, MNG for Mango. And just in a few weeks, shoppers in SoHo will be able to get their hands on the line.
I had a slight obsession with Penelope during college. (I posted her picture as my main photo on those social networking sites and taped some pictures on the walls of my college dorm. Sick- I know!)
Ads of the sultry sisters are all over the city including the corner of Houston and Broadway where the new Mango store will open later this fall. At first I was a little doubtful, but after browsing through the Mango Web site, I have to admit the line is urban chic and quite affordable.
Check them out at Mango.com and click the gallery below to see the sexy ads that are taking over the city. *mercedes sanchez P.S. With so much Penelope action my obsession is back and I even tore out a page of a L’Oreal ad with her face on it and taped it to my desk at work!
So according to our 2007 calendar, Spring is here. And if that’s the case, I think it’s about time I got rid of my Uggs- not Ugg boots (I don’t own a pair of those). I mean my Ugg flats that I bought last winter. At the moment of purchase my intentions were to get the most comfortable pair of flats I came across. When I saw the fleece-lined moccasins in SoHo I knew they were exactly what I was looking for. And since that day in December, I can’t seem to step out of them. I wear them three days of the week; my co-workers must think I have no other pair of shoes! Snow, rain (and not sleet- I’d wear my galoshes then) I wore my brown UGG Australia Thelma Moccasins. Sure most people like pizza. But have you ever had an obsession with a particular pizza? Neither did I… until now. Every few days or so I stop by Ray’s on Prince Street, and a couple of weeks ago I noticed one I had never tried before: Ricotta over mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Sounds gross? Don’t under estimate it. I like food that of course tastes good, but that’s also fun to eat. And the ricotta fillings with the tomato sauce and mozzarella make this consumption very enjoyable. But one thing that isn’t so pleasant is the price: $3.50. Does anyone out there remember when pizza in New York cost $1.25?! You too can get a taste of my obsession at:
Ray’s Pizza (the firstRay’s est. 1959)
27 Prince Street, between Elizabeth and Mott Streets.
$3.50. (Don’t forget to sprinkle red crushed peppers and oregano).
