BeChicMag.com is an independent lifestyle blog covering fashion, beauty, and travel. Our readers are women between the ages of 18-49 who want information on the latest trends, celebrity looks for less, product reviews, giveaways, and all things chic!
After launching her style blog in 2006, Mercedes Sanchez has become a sought-after lifestyle expert and brand ambassador. What Mercedes started as a platform to post her published work and share her tips has literally turned from a hobby to a career.
Today she shares her fashion and beauty expertise on NBC New York, CBS, Univision, BET and Telemundo. Mercedes has been described as a digital influencer by major brands and networks.
In March 2013, Latina Magazine listed her as one of the Top 10 Best Beauty Bloggers. She was named Best Latina Fashion Blogger by Latism (Latinos in Social Media) in 2012.
Mercedes’ readers have been loyal for 10 years because she is relatable and credible. She’s not afraid to talk about her personal skin care issues such as having suffered from adult acne and being unemployed— thus sharing how to dress and look well without breaking the bank and mixing high and low trends. Her readers (and viewers) know that when Mercedes recommends a beauty product or fashion trend she’s speaking from an honest point of view.
She’s also a freelance writer and has contributed to the Daily News, El Diario / La Prensa, Vista Magazine – a national magazine for bilingual Latinas.
Mercedes is a go-to source and has been featured in a two-page spread People in Español, About.com – part of The New York Times Company, premiere issue of Cosmo for Latinas, The Huffington Post, two-page spread in The Santo Domingo Times, Fox News Latino, MSN Latino, NBC, and in the book Poder de Mujer.
She’s covered New York Fashion Week for nine consecutive years and has been invited to Brazil multiple times to cover fashion week.
Before launching her blog, Mercedes worked for the New York Post’s Tempo, a weekly and monthly section dedicated to Latina fashion, celebrity news, and shopping. Shortly after, she joined WNBC-TV as a segment producer.
Mercedes Sanchez is a native New Yorker and is of Dominican descent. She has a background in print, broadcast journalism and public relations.
