Do you use a hair mask?

Ok... This first photo was taken a while back and I like to think that my hair is much healthier today. mercedes sanchez hair

My hair was dry and it was beginning to lose its shine. You see, I get my hair blown out a lot because of the TV segments that I do. I'm in the hair salon at least once every two weeks and I think the heat is beginning to cause some damage.

I stopped by Gioje Salon in Chelsea where the owner, Giovanny, asked me to try a new hair mask that she and her family from the Dominican Republic put together.

When she first uttered the word "keratin," I said no thanks. I didn't want to ever try anything that contained keratin. But after a few weeks of Giovanny telling me how her hair mask is based on a natural protein that will increase my hair's natural shine, I decided to try it.

Here's what it does:

• The mask repairs dry and damaged hair

• It provides body and volume, for all hair types

• Enhances both your hair’s softness and radiance

• Repairs your hair’s DNA and natural keratin, creating strong, healthy hair

• Brings your color-treated and highlighted hair back to life

So I gave in and tried it.

After the shampoo, she applied the Giojé Mask from my roots to ends. She covered my hair with a plastic cap for 10 to 15 minutes.

For improved keratin penetration into the hair’s cuticles, Giovanny applied heat. She then rinsed and styled my hair as usual. No conditioner was needed.
