Makeup Review: L'Oreal's True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation (Video)
I have to admit that I've been hesitant to try a liquid foundation that comes in a cushion compact. But when I got a hold of all 12 shades of the new L'Oreal True Match Cushion, I couldn't wait to do a review. Watch video, and read full review below.
Upon trying the True Match Lumi Cushion, I quickly learned that this foundation is for women on-the-go. In the video I show you how I applied it in less than two minutes.
I loved the fact that it's lightweight and offers light to medium coverage and how easy it was to apply. I'm no makeup artist so I'm always looking for products that are simple, inexpensive and effective.
All I had to do was gently press the applicator into the foundation cushion. It comes with a little handle that allows your two fingers to slide in which makes it even easier!
I tapped the makeup onto my skin and built it to my desired coverage level. I tried both the N5.5 Perfect Beige (bottom left) and N4 Buff Beige (bottom right) and found them to be very similar. The N4 is just slightly lighter.
I didn't find it necessary, but if you feel like blending the foundation with a makeup brush go for it. The True Match Lumi is super blendable. But another benefit of the applicator is that it gives you the ability to touch up your liquid foundation throughout the day.
Here's a swatch of all 12 shades which come in warm, neutral and cool undertones.
[Top Picture] From Bottom to Top: W2- Light Ivory; W3- Nude Beige; W5.5- Suntan Hale; W8- Creme Cafe; C3- Creamy Natural; and C5- Shell Beige.
[Bottom Picture] From Top to Bottom: N4-Buff Beige; N5-Perfect Beige; N3.5-Classic Buff; N2-Classic Ivory; C8-Cocoa; and, C5.5-Natural Tan.
If you love liquid foundation or BB creams I highly recommend you give the True Match Lumi Cushion a try.
One tip I have is to consider adding concealer to cover any blemishes or imperfections before applying the foundation. Since the True Match Lumi Cushion only offers light to medium coverage I might wear concealer next time to cover some old red acne scars.
The True Match Lumi Cushion gave me a natural, luminous glow in less than two minutes. It's a foundation I definitely recommend for daily wear.
