Backstage with Tracy Reese
Tracy Reese Fall 2016 By Claritza Q., Contributing Writer
Fashion Week is always full of surprises and this season was no different. I got to go behind the scenes and have an inside look at Tracy Reese’s glam team.
Reese’s Fall/ Winter 2016 collection was inspired by her hometown of Detroit. She proclaimed her love for Detroit with intricate ruffles and fabrics that she personally designed. However, looks aren’t complete without hair and makeup. To accomplish her vision she collaborated with Shea Moisture, Jamberry and Mary Kay cosmetics.
To complement the free spirited designs, head stylist Bok-Hee used multiple Shea Moisture products. Each model had herown look while keeping them as natural as ever.
To start off, Shea Moisture’s Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Texture Spray was sprayed all over the head. To add volume, hairstylists used a 1’’ curling iron and applied mousse to achieve loose curls.

Makeup was no different. The looks contrasted between natural and striking. Mary Kay Cosmetics used a light contour and kept everything very minimal for the first look by applying Mineral Eye Color in Moonstone and Chocolate Kiss and Lash Love Mascara. Their second look was a lot more dramatic. The focal point was a strong smoky eye.
The makeup artists used Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner and used True Dimensions Lipstick as a blush.
An aspect that I loved about ‘A Detroit Love Story’ was that I could recreate these looks at home and that all of the products are affordable.
