WE FIND BOUTIQUES THAT PAY YOU! Contributing writer Arleny Genao on bargain shopping in New York City
With an unstable economy, most of us are cautious with how we spend our money. As for me, I had to control the amount of money spent on clothing. But before I put my cash away, I decided to go out and find a few places that would allow me to enjoy some guilt-free shopping.
My first stop was Outlet 7, a fabulous boutique in the East Village. If you’re looking to get designer clothes for less then this is the store for you! This cozy boutique showcases pieces from designers represented by Seventh House PR such as Charlotte Ronson, Tony Cohen and Jillian Lewis (whom you might remember from the fourth season of Project Runway). The pieces are eclectic and feminine and at wholesale prices (from 50 to 70% off), this place is like an everyday sample sale! Outlet 7. 117 E. 7th street. NYC. 212-529-0766
Fox & Fawn in the Lower East Side. Having lived in this neighborhood my whole life, I was surprised to find out that this place had been in existence for four years. Truly a great find! As I spoke with the store clerk, I learned that they get their pieces from people selling items they no longer want. Yes, that's right- a place where you can also make a profit! They don’t just buy anything off of you; they prefer vintage pieces which is apparent from the items already in the store. Everything is so reasonably priced. You won’t find anything over $100! I recommend coming into this cool shop and you might be surprised at what you will find. Fox & Fawn. 112 Suffolk Street. NYC. 212-375-1172
I invite you all to pay these great places a visit, and I would love to hear your thoughts! If you end up buying something for yourself, please share it with us. If you know of other bargain shopping spots you think we should check out, share it with us as well. Until next time, stay chic! - Arleny Genao
