Forget the BB, now it’s all about the CC Cream
Clinique’s new Moisture Surge Cream benefits all skin types. By Mercedes Sanchez
If you are still puzzled by the BB Cream craze only to recently hear about CC creams, you’re not alone.
While BB creams are meant to act as an all-in-one product that performs like a moisturizer, primer and foundation, finding the right one isn’t always so simple. Last season I tried Clinique’s Age Defense BB Cream only to find it too thick. I was expecting a light cream— almost like a tinted moisturizer.
But this April, Clinique launched another cream with a whole new formula: The Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
What I like about this CC Cream is that it’s actually lightweight, and it does three things that I’d like all my products to do: hydrate, protect and correct.
Moisturizing is one of the key factors when it comes to skin care, and this cream is infused with hydrating ingredients such as Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water. It also has SPF for sun protection and antioxidants like Vitamin E.
And unlike its BB Cream which only has three color options, the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector is available in six shades and provides enough coverage to hide imperfections or blemishes. You can apply a foundation for extra coverage if you prefer, but the CC cream might be enough for when you choose to go for a barely-there look.
Available at Clinique counters or Clinique.com for $35
