Why you need to update your daily skincare regimen
I thought my daily skincare routine was perfect. I use a drugstore, non-soap facial cleanser followed by a SPF cream, and in the evening I try to always remove my makeup before bed. But after my consultation with Clinique, I started to exfoliate weekly with the 3-Step System. I even added a serum to repair my dark spots and help prevent lines and wrinkles!
In addition to their Liquid Facial Soap, I've been using the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask once a week to help detoxify my skin. It's oil-free and leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth.
I let it set in for 10 minutes and then rinse it off.
After cleansing my skin with the facial soap, I exfoliate with the Clarifying Lotion 3. It also removes excess oil and prevents breakouts. I use a cotton ball and there's no need to rinse.
Then comes the serum!
I've been applying the Custom-Repair Serum after the clarifying lotion and before the moisturizer. In my prior post and in my Adult Acne Diary I've shared my experience with dark/red spots that won't leave after a zit. This serum is supposed to help reduce those dark spots as well as diminish lines and wrinkles. It's been my go-to product this summer.
And then I apply the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.
It has an awesome, smooth texture. I just wish it also had SPF. But at my consultation, Marisa Aquino recommended the Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector with SPF 40 over my moisturizer.
Clinique 3-Step System
After cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing, I apply the makeup.
This week I've been trying out the new Cheek Pop, a blush that looks powder less. It comes in 12 shades and goes for $22.
