DIY Hydrating Facial Mask

Sure it's cold outside, but that's no excuse for dry flaky skin. Winter weather can leave your skin dry, red and irritated. So at times like this, my grandmother recommends a deep-hydrating facial mask. What ingredients does she use? Oatmeal, plain yogurt and honey! Aside from being a fiber-rich superfood, oatmeal whisks away dead skin cells, redness and irritation, leaving skin soft, refreshed and glowing. Yogurt adds enzymes and oils to skin- leaving skin fully moisturized, while honey removes dirt, smooths and moisturizes skin. What You Need:

-Hot water

-1/4 cup of ground oatmeal

-3 tablespoons of plain yogurt

-2 tablespoons of honey

What To Do:

  • Grind the oatmeal in a food processor or chopper
  • Mix the oatmeal with ¾ of hot water. Do not boil the water. Hot water from the tap works fine
  • Give the oatmeal about 2 minutes to steep and then add the 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Thoroughly stir the ingredients until everything is well blended
  • Then add two tablespoons of honey and stir the mixture again
  • Once it' blended well, apply the mask to your face and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Then rinse with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser.
