If you want to enhance your lashes without taking supplements or prescribed treatments, then you might want to consider eyelash extensions. We caught up with May Lee, the owner of JJ Eyelashes who showed us how it works. Watch the video on BeChicTV.

How it works

May Lee begins by covering the lower lashes. The synthetic lashes are applied to the natural lashes, one by one, with a special bonding agent from the root of each lash. The process can take up to an hour. You decide how many lashes you would like to add. For example, the model pictured above asked for the Ruby set which includes 80 lashes for each upper lid. The extensions can last from 3 to 8 weeks.

How do you remove the lashes?

May Lee says everyone loses 1 - 4 lashes per day. So the eyelash extensions would also come off naturally. One by one, day by day. That's why she recommends her clients to go back for touch-ups every two weeks.

What about makeup?

Mascara isn't recommended. It already looks like you have mascara on, but if you insist, there are products specifically for synthetic lashes you should ask your technician about. May Lee also says to stay away from oily makeup remover.
