Transitioning from winter to spring skin care

By Mercedes Sanchez light moisturizer spf 15Spring is only days away, but cities like New York are still getting snow! Though the weather might not be ready for the new season, that doesn't mean you can't start getting the right products for your skin.

Here are some tips on how to transition your winter to spring skin care.

1. Facial creams

During the colder temperatures, most of us use rich creams to hydrate and prevent dry skin. And though hydrating is essential year-round, during the warmer temperatures I recommend you switch to a light moisturizer to avoid break outs. I recommend you try Simple Skincare's new Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 . It has an oil free blend of skin-loving ingredients like Glycerin, Allantoin, and added vitamins, and helps protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays.

I like the fact that it has no harsh irritants, and it's noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic-- key factors I look for because of my sensitive skin.

2. Exfoliation

Though we think of exfoliation more during the summer time, it's not too early to start. Exfoliating removes dry, dead skin. For an inexpensive product, try Simple Skincare's Smoothing Facial Scrub-- it has rice granules to help gently exfoliate and brighten your skin.

3. Cleanser

And of course, choosing the right cleanser might be the most important step in addition to moisturizer. I personally recommend using a soap-free cleanser throughout the year, especially if you have sensitive skin. But if you've been using a thick, creamy cleanser this might be a good time to consider using a foam cleanser as it's often more gentle and won't leave residue.
