How I Spent My Memorial Day Weekend
When I was a teenager I used to coordinate Memorial Day trips to Six Flags Great Adventures with all of my cousins and sisters. Now that we're a little more grown up, a group of friends and I rented a house instead for a weekend full of fun in the sun. Style Blogger Mercedes Sanchez
Our mornings started with a colorful breakfast among friends and family. I'm so happy someone thought of stocking up with fruits. It was so refreshing. (Thanks to the Mena sisters who volunteered to cook!)
An hour or so after eating, I headed straight to the pool. That's actually where I spent most of my weekend.
A couple of days before the trip I received new products from Neutrogena that allowed us to enjoy the sun responsibly. It was exactly what we needed when the temperature hit 90° the Saturday before Memorial Day. We had sunscreen from Neutrogena's CoolDry Sport, UltraSheer and WetSkin to help us #ChooseSkinHealth.
Having different options for sunscreen was perfect because we participated in different activities. For example, I played frisbee with my husband and the CoolDry Sport was great for him because it allows him to naturally sweat without compromising the SPF protection.
In the evening some of us hung out by the fire pit.
And the next day, it was back to the pool and more outdoor activities. The Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunscreen cuts through water to provide UVA and UVB protection. It was my go-to before going to the swimming pool. And let me tell you, I was in there almost all day. My friends Nathalie, Benny and I started a game of "volleyball" in the pool with the whole gang which led to a relay race where I almost got hurt - but I'll save that story for another day.
For my face and my arms, I used the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Stick Sunscreen (see below). I loved it because it was easy to apply and it left a lightweight, non-greasy feel. Like the others, it's also water and sweat resistant.
The yellow bracelet you see on my left hand is a bug repellent.
I'm so grateful for a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. It was also pretty sweet to have my cousin who's a marine with us. Blessed be all the veterans.
