4 End-of-Summer Beauty Products
How to treat hair and skin after sun damage By Mercedes Sanchez
As much as we enjoyed hanging out by the beach and the pool this summer, chances are our hair and skin may have been affected by the sun and chlorine.
So this morning I brought a few affordable beauty products to Telemundo to discuss how you can repair the damage. (Watch segment below).
Let's start with why a hydrating mask for your hair is important.
Most women should own a creamy hair mask that hydrates and gives shine such as this one from Moroccanoil.
Apply after your shampoo, let it set for 5-7 minutes and then rinse. I recommend using a hair mask once or twice a week.
Shampoo and conditioner for dry or flaky scalp
We know that too much sun can cause hair damage, but did you know it can also give you dandruff? I recommend using a shampoo and conditioner with hydrating ingredients like Vitamin E. You can find several, such as the Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue which retains your hair's moisture, at your local drugstore.
Head & Shoulders, $4.99
Ammonia-Free Hair Dye
Women love to update their hair color with the changing seasons; however, hair dye can often cause further damage to your locks. When shopping for your next at-home dye consider looking for a more healthy option such as Clairol's Natural Instincts. It's an ammonia-free, non-permanent dye formulated with aloe and vitamins and lasts about six weeks.
Natural Instincts, $8.99
Facial oil for natural looking glow
For the ladies hoping to continue their summer glow onto the next season, I recommend a facial oil such as L'Oreal's Age Perfect Glow Renewal Oil which helps restore your skin's youthful glow. It's non-greasy and lightweight.
Age Perfect Glow Renewal Oil, $24.95
