Perfect Time for Pampering

It's sad to think the summer is almost over. The past few weeks have been a little stressful, but I took time off for pampering: Got my makeup done, went shopping, and went out for some fine dining. style blog floral midi skirt

I found this floral midi skirt and black top at H&M. I saw a romper with the same design pattern, but they didn't have my size. I'm actually happy about that. This midi skirt was a better option!

For my makeup, I went with a plum theme with the eyeshadow, blush, and gloss. Thanks to the girls at the Clinique beauty counter! (Look out for a Clinique post later this week).

My husband and I had dinner at Buddakan in the Meat Packing District. It's one of my favorites in the city. The ambiance is sexy and the food is absolutely delicious.

We enjoyed dumplings, ribs, shrimp, lobster, and Prosecco at Buddakan. Here's an image of the bottom level.

Top, Skirt, and Handbag: H&M | Heels: Christian Louboutin

This squared handbag was a great buy! Its small size made it easy to carry, but I was also able to fit my flats in the bag alongside my keys and camera.

This summer has been full of mixed emotions. We're grateful for our trip to Europe and spending time with family and friends. But I'm also super sad about the closing of my parish, Church of the Nativity.  Life goes on but there were no legitimate reasons for the closing of so many churches... so our work isn't quite done yet. In addition to the blog, I'm also starting to pick up some clients for my freelance public relations business after the pro bono work I did for Nativity.

Many thanks to Mary Kay for the hook up to Fix Beauty Bar, Buddakan, and our weekend visit to the Guggenheim museum. I consider the gifts as a testimony as the pampering came during a stressful and transitional time.
