Staying warm in the city snow

When the first snowfall of 2017 hit New York City I experienced an unexpected lazy Saturday. Part of me wanted to go out and play in the snow, but after all of our plans got canceled, I decided to stay in and make it an official lazy day. I didn't take these photos until the following morning.Latina fashion expert be chic magAs cold as it was, I made sure to go out and get a picture or two before all of the snow melted. And boy was it freezing out! I will have to start taking outfit pictures indoors if the temperature drops below 20 degrees again.

To stay warm I put on my white puffy parka. I bought it Macy's a year ago. Underneath I layered as much as possible with a long sleeve shirt and a knitted sweater. The snow boots you see here are more than seven years old, and they were a great buy! They keep my feet warm and have a strong grip which comes in handy in the snow and black ice. They're from The North Face.

I'm trying to make more of an effort to stay chic while staying warm. But that's going to be challenging. I often layer up so much that I'm unrecognizable in the street. Oversized hats, scarf pulled around my face, sunglasses - you name it. Sometimes I don't even bother saying hi to folks I recognize in the neighborhood when I'm covered up. I don't want to scare them away and then have to explain that it's just me. (It's happened before LOL).
