Recap: My workshop at Syracuse University
Talking to SU students about social media By Mercedes Sanchez
For my talk, titled Branding Yourself: Lessons in Social Media, I shared what has worked for me throughout the past couple of years.
I shared stories about my career- from the days at the New York Post, working as a press officer for the Bronx Borough President, producing segments for WNBC-TV, being laid off, and then reinventing myself and creating opportunities when I didn't see any.
I spoke about finding your niche, becoming credible, being your own PR person, and finding your audience.
When speaking to students I always worry about being boring, but they were super engaged and asking questions throughout and after. I was relieved!
Here are some photos from yesterday and a couple of slides (I had about 30).
