THE BAR WITH JENGA AND CANDY LAND
Trivial Pursuit, tequila, Jenga, vodka and foosballl?!
675 Bar is the new bar that is bringing a new type of "hip" to the Meatpacking District. Replacing what was once "Level V," 675 bar has wiped out the bottle and snobby door service to create a sort of underground playground.
With exposed brick everywhere and secluded little rooms that hold a library in one and a foosball table in the other, this place makes it easy to become either your next date spot or your next after work scene.
On Wednesday night my girlfriends and I went for a much needed girls night out. So after hearing some rumors about 675 bar and their collection of games like Jenga, Trivial Pursuit and Candy Land, I knew I had to go see for myself what the results would be like after mixing alcohol with Chutes and Ladders.
And, the result was FUN! After we found a spot with big comfy couches and a Jenga game it was like all of us were suddenly in the comfort of our own living room with great music and a cocktail waitress. The service was great- almost as if the waitress knew exactly when we were going to order another drink and was at our table before we even had to look for her. The music was perfect. Nothing too loungy and nothing too clubish either. The dress code wasn't obnoxiously strict.
When you go to 675 BAR, nostalgia may take you back to the strategies of your favorite board game, but remember to combine a nice strong and exotic cocktail menu to make sure nostalgia doesn't take you too far. -Jessica Bianculli
