Travel Review: Las Vegas - Delano Hotel, Dining, and Outlet Shopping

Las Vegas By Mercedes Sanchez

This post is a little late, but I'm happy to finally sit down and write about my weekend in Las Vegas. I went on a press trip in September in honor of Mexican Independence Day.

I met with a group of reporters from the U.S. and Mexico. We stayed at the new Delano Las Vegas - located at the end (or is it the start?) of the Las Vegas strip.

The hotel was only two weeks old when I visited. Well- it was renamed the Delano after 'The Hotel.' And while the room was clean and comfortable, it was a little obvious that the staff was still getting used to the new system and management. But overall, my stay was pleasant.

I stayed at the King Suite which had a separate 'living area' with its own bathroom. This additional room was a treat!

It made working while on the trip more enjoyable.

We dined at the best places thanks to the PR team. One of my favorites was La Comida, a Mexican restaurant in Downtown Las Vegas.

The night before I left, we had dinner at Crush in the MGM Grand. We ate kale salad, mini burgers with fried quail egg, lamb sirloin and a few more items from their menu.

On the second morning we attended a parade in Downtown Las Vegas.

Another part of the trip consisted of concerts by living legends such as Juan Gabriel, Alejandro Fernandez, and Luis Miguel. Unfortunately, I missed the Juan Gabriel concert because it took place the evening after I returned to New York. But I did get to see Luis Miguel, and it was amazing! I was really impressed.

Sightseeing in Las Vegas

I loved being in Vegas, but it's not the same without friends or family. I have to go back to really enjoy it and do at least one 'crazy' thing. (It would've been great if Britney had been performing the weekend I was there).

One of the highlights was shopping at the Premium Outlets.

Did someone say shopping? #elgritodevegas

With its reputation, I wasn't sure if Las Vegas had any churches. But there was one only five minutes away and it was packed! This is me near the Delano on my way back to the hotel after church.

Tell me, have you been to Las Vegas?
